In the middle of the night I thought of the title for this post. It's a favorite quote of my hubby's from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. If you've seen the movie, you'll probably remember the line. If not, you have no idea what I'm talking about.
I saw this project twice in Bloggland a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love. If you were the writer of one of those posts, please let me know. I can't seem to recall where it came from. Anyway, these are not really pillows!!! They were inexpensive placemats from Walmart. All I needed to do was rip the seam open a little, stuff them, and sew up the edge again. Super easy and super cute!!!
Happy Sewing!

ReplyDeleteIn love! I'm featuring you in a post tomorrow about thanksgiving/fall decor on crazydomestic.com. the CSI project is having pillow week this week, you should really enter these in it! I want to run out to walmart tonight so I can make my own!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing!!! Our Walmart has them too, and I'm about to go stock up!!! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI did the placemat pillows a few times (I don't think you got it from me though), but it never occurred to me to use the Walmart leaf placemats! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. When I first saw the picture I thought they would take too much time with all that custom sticking to get the veins just right. But I can do placemats. Super fun.
ReplyDeleteCute! I would have never thought of this.
ReplyDeleteSo wish I had seen this last year. They aren't selling them in 2011!
ReplyDeleteMust depend on the location because my Wal-Mart has them this year! I just found them on clearance, and I can't wait to make them!
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! I just made a set yesterday. I saw the idea here - http://pinksuedeshoe.com/2010/11/01/fall-leaf-accent-pillows/ The placemats aren't on clearance at our Wal-mart yet, I wish they were! Brook http://snipssnailsandpuppydogstails.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing these pillows around blogland. I posted the original tutorial last year here: http://tatteredandinked.blogspot.com/2010/09/easy-fall-leaf-pillows_27.html
ReplyDeleteAnd my wal-mart is still selling them, so run over and stock up!!
I will never look at placemats the same! Endless possibilities : )
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever use for placemats. Great Job.
ReplyDeleteI made these for my blog a couple of weeks ago- thought I came up with the idea. Guess there's a lot of us clever crafters out there! lol
